A Hagley-based charity supporting Ukrainian refugees is set to drive to the front lines to deliver medical supplies.

Lviv Aid, launched in 2022 by six residents of the town, has raised £10,500 over the past year to aid the Ukrainian community that has settled in Hagley.

The trustees responded to news of a shortage of ambulances and medical supplies in Ukraine by raising funds to purchase and send the critical items.

The charity has procured two ambulances, loaded with crucial medical supplies, and will personally drive them to Poland.

From there, doctors will transport them to the front lines in Odesa and Kharkiv.

The first delivery is set to leave on Tuesday (May 21), with another planned for Thursday, May 30.

The endeavour will not mark the end of the charity's fundraising, as they have plans for another relief project later in the year.

Previously, the charity has transported bedding and supplies to displaced Ukrainians in Lviv in 2022.
